Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then discovered numerous other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Officials report preliminary tests indicate the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are not yet cognizant of any injuries in connection with the incident," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were working "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the residents for details.
An important political figure stated the vandalism made him without words and had to be solved rapidly.
"This incident affects the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right attack in 2020," he posted on social media, recalling the murder of nine people by a shooter focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
