19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden championship for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging period, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-time coach Cervara.

Currently working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from March of the previous year.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has won 21 titles at 21 various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in Halle previously this season.

His counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led observers to doubt if his ability to play at the highest level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and play aggressively, reinforced by an improved serve.

Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped service breaks in the second set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional title, took control to push for a final set.

Moutet defended 4 early break points in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
